Mike Tidwell, Director Chesapeake Climate Action Network

The Ethics of Climate Denial. As a society, we're beginning to make progress in the fight against climate change. But we're not moving fast enough because most of us deny the science saying we're almost out of time. Mike Tidwell will delve into the layers of denial that plague all of us and that represent our biggest ethical challenge. How can we learn from the past and move faster on clean energy today?

Mike Tidwell is founder and director of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about the impacts and solutions associated with global warming in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. He is also an author and filmmaker whose newest book, focusing on Katrina and global warming, is titled The Ravaging Tide: Strange Weather, Future Katrinas, and the Race to Save America’s Coastal Cities. Tidwell’s most recent documentary film – “We Are All Smith Islanders” – vividly depicts the dangers of global warming in MarylandVirginia, and D.C.
