Our annual intergenerational celebration we call Stone Salad is held the Sunday before Thanksgiving, this year on November 22.

We are asking those whose last names begin with the following letters of the alphabet to bring various items for the salad:

A through H – Salad items (other than greens) that are sliced or cut, such as nuts, cheese, and assorted vegetables. NO meat please.

I through Z - Salad greens, which have been washed and cut up or torn.

To add to the festivities and complete the meal, we are also asking you to bring various other items:

A through H – Salad dressings.

I through Q - Breads, rolls, or muffins and various spreads such as butter, margarine, apple butter, or jelly.

R through Z – Desserts

The Society will provide cold and hot beverages. This year we are trying something new: table sponsors will provide plates, cutlery, and cups.

The third and fourth Sunday setup and cleanup crews will handle setup at 10:00 a.m. Everyone is asked to help with cleanup between 1 and 1:20 p.m.

At such a festive occasion, NoVES also remembers the needy. We will collect food donations for the Arlington Food Assistance Program. This group provides food to needy families. While any donation of any non-perishable food is welcome, the group is especially in need of canned meats, canned beans, and canned fruit.
