This is intended as a guide for NoVES committees, teams, and task forces. In most cases it refers to skills and responsibilities of the committee as a whole, not of individuals.
| Skills needed: | Has experience with budgets. Is good with numbers and spreadsheets. Is good at thinking in the long-term. Communicates well. Is responsible. Is aware in general of how NoVES operates with respect to its sources of income and its financial responsibilities. |
| Responsibilities: | Assists Board with fiduciary stewardship of NoVES. Guides NoVES in its financial planning and budget. In consultation with the Board, produces a Budget for membership review in a timely manner to assure adequate member review prior to membership meeting. Works with Treasurer to assure proper management of financial resources. Initiates and oversees continuous fund raising activities including gift cards and I Give. |
| Member Term: | 2 years with option to renew. |
| Measurement of Success: | Appropriate budgets are produced in a timely manner. |
| OTHER NOTES: | Often the Treasurer of the Board serves as Finance Committee Chair. |
