This is intended as a guide for NoVES committees, teams, and task forces. In most cases it refers to skills and responsibilities of the committee as a whole, not of individuals.
| Skills needed: | Has undergone Officiant training, which includes some information about weddings in Ethical Culture and in some other traditions. Is certified as an officiant by the AEU. Is a prompt communicator. Willing to collaborate with wedding couples. Has good interpersonal skills, is calm and a non-anxious presence. Is willing and able to reach out to couples and incorporate their traditions and background. |
| Responsibilities: | Reply to initial inquiries promptly, hopefully within 48 hours. Maintains regular communications with couples who choose Ethical Culture officiant. Handles paperwork efficiently and professionally and fulfills all legal requirements of officiant. Turns over all financial contributions to Treasurer and communicates name and address of contributor and amount of donation to Coordinator. |
| Member Term: | 3 years, as is indicated in AEU certification process. |
| Measurement of Success: | Number of referrals from previous weddings. Anecdotal reports about the success of officiant’s weddings. |
