Ethical Action Committee

Active involvement in the public arena is a natural outgrowth of our social vision. The Ethical Action Committee of the Northern Virginia Ethical Society fosters social responsibility in our members. We keep our members informed about the ethical aspects of major social issues, and we facilitate the creation of consensus statements reflecting the members’ views on public policy. We involve ourselves both in direct support of people in need and in efforts to improve underlying social structures and policies. Where appropriate, we work in coalitions with likeminded groups. Through Ethical Society projects we provide outlets for our members’ desires to express their social concerns. We also encourage and publicize members’ individual activities in the community arena.

Our volunteer Ethical Action committee has wide-ranging independence in making decisions about what projects to endorse and how to carry out such projects, within boundaries established by the NoVES board.

To find out more about NoVES Ethical Action, ask one of the committee members at a Sunday meeting. If you don't know who the committee members are, ask one of the morning's greeters to help you find one.
