AUCTION COMMITTEE Definition

Current members: Melissa Sinclair, Jim Ball
This is intended as a guide for NoVES committees, teams, and task forces. In most cases it refers to skills and responsibilities of the committee as a whole, not of individuals.

 Skills needed: Good organizing skills.
Good communication skills.
Willing to work with NoVES members.
 Responsibilities: Works with Board to decide when auction will take place.
Gets people to help run auction.
Publicizes auction in general.
Makes sure NoVES members are aware of the need for auction items and services.
Works with donors in deciding whether auction item and service is appropriate and priced correctly.
Sets up auction.
Keeps track of who signed up for which auction item and service.
Collects funds from auction and turns them over to NovES Treasurer.
Follows up with auction item and service providers to make sure they actually provide the items and services purchased.
 Member Term: Two years.
 Measurement of Success: NoVES members are aware of need for auction items and services.
Sufficient number of auction items and services are provided.
Auction well publicized.
Auction takes place as planned.
Many people sign up for auction items and services.
NoVES collects a substantial amount of money as a result of the auction.
All auction items and services are provided to the purchasers.
