The Workshop
Parents learn how to awaken the gifts of character in their children and themselves by speaking the language of virtues, recognizing teachable moments without shaming and blaming, setting clear boundaries based on restorative justice, honoring the spirit of each child and the family as a whole and leading others into their own solutions.

If you knew you had a choice to raise a prima donna or a prime minister, a bully or a humanitarian, would you make the sacrifice? Would you sacrifice indulgence for inspiration, and co-dependence for mentorship?

Through a highly interactive and transformational experience, learn 5 life-changing strategies from The Virtues Project that will empower you to raise responsible, respectful and compassionate children and enable everyone in your family to live more authentic, joyful and meaningful lives.

Take Home Value:
  • Strengthen communication
  • Build resiliency
  • Develop authentic self-esteem
  • Establish healthy boundaries and relevant consequences
  • Foster responsible, respectful and trustworthy individuals
  • Inspire family unity
  • Discover personal strengths
  • Great a joyful, loving and peaceful family culture

Sponsored by the Jerry Ziskind Memorial Fund
Jerry Ziskind was a founding member of the Northern Virginia Ethical Society.  We remember him fondly as our friend and the Society's president. Jerry was also an elementary school teacher in Washington, DC and Falls Church, VA. The last 18 years of his 30 year teaching career was as a 1st grade teacher in Falls Church City Public Schools.  He was a beloved teacher who brought gentleness, curiosity and good humor to his  passion for cultivating young minds.

As a tribute to his commitment to the ethical growth and development of children, NoVES established the Jerry Ziskind Memorial Fund.  The Fund's mission is to honor Jerry's legacy by sponsoring Society programs focusing on the growth of ethical behavior in children.   This will be the fourth Memorial Platform; past presenters include Fritz Williams (2008), Arthur Dorbin (2009) and Dale McGowan (2010).
