Pledge Campaign 2017-2018

Dear Friends,

2016-17 was a great year for NOVES.   You can help make 2017-18 even better!

Perhaps you have noticed the increased excitement and energy around the Society recently? We have new leadership, new members and a renewed sense of purpose! In just the last year:

  • We welcomed our new part-time leader, Randy Best;

  • We have welcomed 9 new members since September 2016, bringing our membership to the highest level it has been for at least a decade

  • The Sunday School is thriving, and enrollment is steadily growing;

  • The Society’s Ethical Action and Outreach programs have acquired a new momentum, thanks to Randy’s leadership.

This is a critical time for our Society. We have an opportunity to build on our recent successes. The results of our recent budget survey indicate that members are eager to expand the reach of the Society.

To be frank, this costs money. That’s why our 2017-18 Pledge Drive is particularly important.

We invite you to show your commitment to our community by pledging your financial support for the upcoming year.

With your support, we are confident NOVES can continue to expand the programs you value. For example:

  • Our Ethical Education program, which encourages children to think for themselves about ethical issues and provides support so that freethinkers do not feel they are alone;

  • Our platforms and adult education programs encouraging us to think about moral and ethical issues and to live our lives in accord with our ethical ideals and values;

  • A community where humanists celebrate life's joys and support each other through life's crises, and develop a sense of belonging;

  • An opportunity to participate in ethical action projects in line with our belief in the worth and dignity of each human being;

  • For some of us, an opportunity to have a wedding or memorial services congruent with our humanistic values.

If you have any questions about pledging please contact our Treasurer, Jeffrey Crook, or our Pledge Campaign Chair, Hank Gassner.
